In exciting news for car enthusiasts, Genesis has officially announced the arrival of the 2024 Genesis G70 in the US market. This announcement comes several months after the updated model was first revealed in South Korea. What makes this new G70 so enticing is the introduction of a powerful 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine under the hood of the base model, replacing the previous 2.0-liter unit. The upgrades in power are truly remarkable, with the output increasing from 252 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque to an impressive 300 hp and 311 lb-ft of torque. These enhancements translate to gains of 48 hp and 51 lb-ft of torque, respectively.
Notably, the 2.5-liter engine is the same robust unit that was incorporated into the facelifted Stinger in 2021. In addition to this substantial engine upgrade, all G70 models will now come equipped with standard high-performance Brembo brakes.
While the 3.3-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine remains unchanged, delivering a potent 365 hp and 376 lb-ft of torque, neither the Stinger nor the G70 received the newer 3.5-liter engine found in the G80 and GV80. Regardless of the engine choice, power is seamlessly delivered to the rear wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission.
For the 2024 model, Genesis has made subtle enhancements to the G70’s exterior. This includes the addition of a new emblem featuring an intricately engraved Guilloche pattern, reminiscent of luxury watches. Moreover, two striking new exterior colors have been introduced: Vatna Gray, inspired by Iceland, and Kawah Blue, drawing inspiration from Indonesia. Although not mentioned in the US press release, the Korean version mentioned new 18- and 19-inch wheels.

Inside the G70, there are modest updates, including a touch climate control display and a frameless rear-view mirror. Genesis has also mentioned “functional designs” for the switches, door and console garnish patterns, air vents, cupholders, and key fob, albeit without specific details. Customers will be pleased to find two new interior color options: Obsidian Black/Fog Gray and Obsidian Black/Vanilla Beige. The inclusion of USB-C ports and a rear side airbag as standard features enhances the interior’s appeal.
As a noteworthy technological addition, the 2024 G70 comes equipped with Genesis Digital Key 2, featuring Near Field Communication (NFC) compatibility. This innovation allows owners to save their vehicle preferences to Apple Wallet and Samsung Pass, and even share their Digital Key with friends or family for easy access and driving.
While pricing and availability for the US market are yet to be disclosed, the anticipation for the 2024 Genesis G70 continues to build. Car enthusiasts and Genesis fans can expect more information to be unveiled later this year, promising an exciting future for this remarkable vehicle.
