Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown roadmap includes boss rush and permadeath modes, and story DLC

Ubisoft has shared a post-launch roadmap for its acclaimed revival of the Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown series, which promises to introduce a permanent death mode, a boss attack mode, and story DLC in four updates starting next Wednesday, March 20.

Next week's free update, officially titled Warrior's Path, includes the aforementioned permadeath mode along with a speedrun mode and four new outfits for Lost Crown protagonist Sargon. It will be followed by another free update in “spring”, titled Boss Attack, which introduces a boss attack mode and more Sargon suits.

The additions look to be getting a little meatier in The Lost Crown's free summer update, known as Divine Trials, with Ubisoft promising new combat, puzzle and platforming challenges, along with a selection of new amulets, additional costumes for Sargon and ” further”.

Which brings us to the final update for Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, at least as far as its roadmap goes, which takes the form of paid story DLC. Ubisoft hasn't shared any details about this one yet, but it's coming “later in 2024,” which presumably means after the summer update.

Today's roadmap reveal is accompanied by a limited-time offer discounting The Lost Crown by 40 percent on all platforms. That means you can currently pick up the Standard Edition for £26.99 instead of the usual £44.99, while the Deluxe Edition, which includes the Bird of Prosperity amulet and the Immortal outfit for Sargon, costs £29. 99 instead of £49.99.

And Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is worth checking out. Eurogamer's Christian Donlan gave it four out of five stars in January, calling it “a true delight” and a game “that revels in both its genre and its own heritage, offering wonderful combat and exploration.”
