Claudia Oshry shares side effects after quitting Ozempic

Ozempic is no laughing matter for the comedian. Handler revealed that his “anti-aging doctor” prescribed the drug without knowing what it was.

“I didn't even know I was in this,” he said during the January 25, 2023 episode of calls his daddy. “She said, 'If you ever want to lose five pounds, this is good.'”

But while trying the drug, Handler noticed that she didn't like how it made her feel.

“I came back from a vacation and injected myself with it,” he recalled. “I went to lunch with a friend a few days later and she was like, 'I'm not really eating anything. I'm so nauseous I'm taking Ozempic.' And I was like, 'I'm a little nauseous too.' But I had just finished. I came back from Spain and I was jet lagged.

Ultimately, Handler stopped using the medication because it was not medically necessary for her, adding that she gave away the remaining doses to her friends.

“I injected about four or five of my friends with Ozempic, because I realized they didn't want to use it because it was stupid,” he said. “It's for heavy people. I have people who come to my house and I tell them, 'Okay, I can see you at 1, I can see you at 2.'”
