Data center company Equinix has poached Google Cloud's president of marketing, Adaire Fox-Martinas, as its new CEO.
Fox-Martin will take over at the end of the second quarter of this year, the company confirmed last week.
Current President and CEO Charles Meyers will become Executive Chairman, while Peter Van Camp, who currently holds the position, will step down from his formal responsibilities as a board member to assume the role of special advisor to the board.

Fox-Martin has over 25 years of experience in the technology sector and most recently served as President of Marketing for Google Cloud and Director of Google Ireland. Here, he led Google Cloud's global go-to-market teams, managing sales, professional services, partner ecosystem, and customer success.
Prior to that, Fox-Martin held senior global roles at SAP and Oracle. At SAP, she was a member of the SAP Executive Board, with responsibility for global sales and service.
She also served as president of SAP Asia Pacific and Japan and president of Google Cloud International, and has been a member of the Equinix board of directors since 2020.
Meyers joined the company in 2010 and was named CEO in 2018, expanding Platform Equinix to more than 70 markets in 33 countries. During this time, the company has seen its revenue grow six-fold and added more than $80 billion in equity value.

The company currently has 250 International Business Exchange (IBX) data centers located in 71 major cities around the world. It recently announced plans to open new facilities in Malaysia, India, Indonesia and Australia.
It is also believed to be planning to invest $390 million in building data centers in Africa over the next five years, and last week published plans for a new data center complex on the site of a former paint factory in Slough. , United Kingdom.
