When it comes to blockbusters, Paul Rudd played Ant-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and took on threats like Yellowjacket, Thanos, and Kang the Conqueror. Of course, he is also part of he Ghostbusters films now and will get a proton pack once more for Frozen Empirethe 2021 sequel Future life. Rudd relishes his position within the storied franchise that began decades ago. He recently expressed his excitement about a specific aspect of filming the latest installment, which was also stressful for him in some ways.
The fan-favorite actor reprises his role as teacher and paranormal enthusiast Gary Grooberson in the next Ghostbusters: Afterlife. He managed to get a little into the action Future life but this time he is a full member of the team. And with that comes a very big and incredibly interesting responsibility: driving the Ecto-1. The star recently spoke to our sister site. total movie and spoke effusively about being able to get behind the wheel. However, he also talked about a hypothetical scenario related to honor that made him think, “Oh, shit”:
“Being in a Ghostbusters flight suit and driving the Ecto-1 was a real thrill. You know, there aren't many of those vehicles out there. It's not like they built them new for this movie. It's pretty crazy to think, “This is the Ecto-1 from the original Ghostbusters and I get to drive it.” You're thinking, ‘Shit.’ You're thinking, “Wait, I'm actually driving the Ecto-1. This is the coolest thing ever. But then you think, 'Don't crash.' You feel the weight of that, both literally and metaphorically, so it's exciting and interesting.”
I would certainly hate to be known as the person who arrived on set and ultimately crashed the Ecto-1. After all, it is probably one of the most iconic vehicles in film history. However, as can be seen from the comments Paul Rudd shared, he ultimately did not have any type of accident while in the driver's seat. Such a situation could have been dangerous not only for him but also for anyone else who was in the vehicle at the time. So I totally agree with him regarding the idea that you “feel the weight” of the task on multiple levels.
However, moving away from the negative side of that, I can also understand why the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem The star would feel like a kid in a candy store when it comes to this whole experience. Not only did he get to drive the beloved car, but he also prepared alongside his fellow specter eradicators. Like many of us, the actor also loves the idea of using a proton pack. And, although he couldn't taste one while he did Future lifePaul Rudd previously told CinemaBlend that I was able to review a package in the middle of production..
He Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire Advance That alone seems to indicate that Gary's services will definitely be needed this time around. He and the Spengler family will leave Oklahoma for New York to help the OG team defend against a threat that could start a second Ice Age. All – including Janine Melnitz from Annie Potts – will have to adapt Get ready for this spooky and exciting chapter in the franchise.
Needless to say, the Ecto-1 will surely be used to great effect in the upcoming sequel, and I'm excited to see the action sequences involving the car. Of course, I'm also more than happy to see more of Paul Rudd in the lovable role of him and helping to steer the ship (or in this case, driving the car).
Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire is scheduled to appear in theaters near you starting March 22 as part of the movie schedule 2024.
