Kia’s EV9 Electric SUV Arrives in the US for Under $60,000

Kia’s latest electric SUV, the EV9, is set to arrive in the US market by the end of this year, with a starting price of $56,395. That’s just $1,850 more than the EV9’s starting price in Korea.

The EV9 will be available in four different trim levels: Light, Light Long Range, Wind, and Land. The base Light trim comes standard with a 76.1 kWh battery and a single electric motor that produces 215 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. It also features 19-inch wheels, seven seats, heated and ventilated front seats, an 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, dual 12.3-inch screens, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a wireless charger.

The Light Long Range trim adds a larger 99.8 kWh battery and increases the driving range. It also offers the option of a second-row bench seat or dual captain’s chairs.

The Wind and Land trims come with the larger battery pack and two electric motors that produce a combined 379 horsepower and 443 pound-feet of torque. The Wind trim also comes standard with all-wheel drive, while the Land trim adds additional features such as a digital pattern lighting grille, 20-inch wheels, a heated steering wheel, and a panoramic sunroof.

The top-of-the-line GT-Line trim has the same powertrain as the Wind and Land trims, but it gets a few sporty upgrades, such as 21-inch wheels and a suede headliner.

All trims of the EV9 come standard with an 11 kW charger and 800V architecture for DC fast charging, which allows the battery to be charged from 10% to 80% in under 25 minutes.
