New Helldivers 2 Weather Patch Quietly Adds Huge AT-AT-Like Death Robots

It's update day for Helldivers 2 and, as detailed in the patch notes, the big news is terrible and frightening weather, typical of fighting in planetary hells. However, as No detailed in the patch notes: He's also sneakily added a huge AT-AT-like robot enemy.

Getting started with stuff developer Arrowhead Game Studios it's not Out of shame, today's Helldivers 2 patch, officially known as update 01.000.200, introduces a couple of new weather hazards in the form of blizzards and sandstorms. And no, there's not much to say about this other than, maybe, good luck.

Angry Planetary Weather arrives alongside an increase in the level cap from 50 to 150, and there's great balance in the game too. This covers everything from mission structure (Destroy Command Bunkers now has more objectives because it was “too easy” before, for example) to weapon adjustments and enemy balance, and you'll be able to find full patch notes here.

That it's not However, today's patch notes detail those aforementioned big stomping robots. Much like Arrowhead's delightfully cunning way when it comes to Helldivers 2, players – as documented in the game subreddit – are increasingly reporting sightings of a new, unannounced threat.

This new Helldivers 2 Automaton, apparently known as Factory Strider, is said to be armed with a cannon and mini laser guns, and can spawn Devastators beneath it. “He is a heavy boy and it is not easy to find vents,” said CappedPluto. Sethoman, referring to the bulk of this burly foe, added: “The damn thing took a rail orbital to the face without breaking stride. He's a tough son of a bitch AND HE GETS OUT.”

But that's not all that slipped into the latest Helldivers 2 update. Following the addition of winged insects last month, players now inform flying Automaton gunships in the skies. “They are heavily armored flying Devastators with a normal Devastator strapped to the other side,” Jackpkmn wrote. “Otherwise, they fire volleys of missiles and rapid-fire lasers.”

There you go; The fight for democracy continues and robots are becoming more and more serious.
