'People of our time have been invisible for so long'

Forget the roses: ex golden bachelor Contestants Susan Noles and Kathy Swarts are too busy scrolling through their social media DMs to obsess over flowers.

While the cheerful couple left the ABC show before Gerry Turner got down on one knee for Theresa Nist in the inaugural season finale, that hasn't stopped them from pursuing potential suitors who might have offers of their own. That being said, single women have some ground rules.

“I've had like three or four guys, 35 to 40 years old,” Swarts, 70, told Yahoo Entertainment about the number of men who approached her through messages. “I'm not going to be a nurse or a porter, and I'm not going to raise another child.”

He admitted that he hasn't seen many men shooting on social media, but that hasn't stopped him from wanting to enjoy life, whether dating is part of the equation or not.

“You know what I think? They're afraid of us. Short and simple. They're scared. We're both big personalities,” Swarts said, also referring to Noles. “We say what we think, and not all men can handle that… This is the “The last chapter of our lives and I want it to be the best chapter of my life. I only have 50 more years left.”

“I don't, so hurry up,” Noles, 67, added, laughing. “Let's enjoy what's left, and that's the main thing. I'm totally fine on my own. I mean, I have friends like Kathy. I have tons and tons of friends. What I miss is the intimacy and someone who makes you feel special.”

Speaking of intimacy, they are not afraid to delve into deep topics, including sex, a topic they discussed in the first episode of their new podcast with the franchise. Bachelor Happy Hour: Golden Hour.

“First we have to find the guy,” Swarts said of the right amount of sex to have in a week.

“It just depends on how much energy you put into that day or how romantic it was. “You could have him five times a week if you do the right thing,” Noles added. “My boy will have resistance, baby or little blue pills.”

When it comes to “resistance” and needing the help of “little blue pills,” Swarts told Yahoo Entertainment that conversations like those have mostly played in the background, if at all, on TV and beyond.

“People our age have been invisible for a long time. Age discrimination exists,” she said. “I hate to admit it, but it is, and I think we're a refreshing new face and a new voice about life's possibilities, and it feels great to be a part of that.”

Swarts objected to Noles' weekly recount, given the strength of their own friendship.

“It's not going to happen five times a week because Susan and I have to talk, and that's just going to get in the way,” he said.

So what do 'Golden' alums think about Gerry and Theresa's marriage?

While his journey to love with Turner was not successful, they support him and Nist, along with the decisions the couple are making as a couple, which have made headlines.

The couple reportedly lives separately in different states.

Who do you think will be the new 'Golden Bachelorette'?

ABC confirmed in February that there would officially be a Golden bachelorette party season in 2024, but it is not yet known who will be the protagonist. Based on the history of the franchise, it's most likely someone who was on a previous show, which, in this case, would be the first. golden bachelor season.

The network highlighted the success of The golden bachelor in his announcement of the new series. He Bachelor The spin-off reached an audience of 43.4 million across linear and streaming platforms after 35 days of viewing. It was also the #1 unscripted series of the season on ABC and the #1 unscripted series premiere on Hulu.

So who will be named the golden bachelorette? For now, it remains a mystery.

Noles and Swarts wondered if their younger co-stars, Faith Martin, Joan Vassos, Leslie Fhima or Nancy Hulkower, could be cast as leads. That said, they are open to other possibilities.

“Maybe we should do a double,” Noles joked. “Give them a chance to get their grades.”
