Odoo CRM is an open source customer relationship management platform with robust tools for lead scoring and tracking, sales forecasting, and activity tracking. The self-hosted or cloud version of Odoo CRM is free, making it ideal for organizations with multiple locations that need a cost-effective solution without on-premises installation.

While Odoo CRM is free, paid subscriptions unlock functionality such as accounting and sales. Additionally, it is exclusive to other Odoo applications, which can be limiting for companies that already have systems.

Odoo Pricing

Odoo CRM is free if you only use its app. An additional application will automatically be a premium paid. You can try any app for free for 15 days before needing to upgrade to a paid plan.

Key Features of Odoo CRM

Intelligent automation

Organizations can configure intelligent automated actions in their dashboards to enable triggers based on specific conditions. Routine tasks can be automated (Figure A), such as updating lead status or sending follow-up emails.

Predictive lead scoring and segmentation

Odoo CRM allows organizations to assign leads based on the probability of a conversion. Predictive lead scoring is based on historical data from opportunities or open opportunities, but can be customized in settings (Figure B) depending on the quality of the phone and email. This is not present in most open source CRM platforms I have reviewed.

Lead generation from social networks

Odoo CRM allows you to add social media accounts as broadcasts to a user's home dashboard. Once a stream is added, social posts can be viewed on the platform and clicking a comment on any social post can create a lead (Figure C). This feature is part of the Odoo CRM free plan, which is considered a premium feature (paid add-on) with other major CRM platforms.

Self-service customer portal

Odoo CRM provides a customer portal where customers can access relevant data and communicate with the organization. Companies can also request signatures (Figure D) and platform documents. This feature is not always present in other CRM applications.

Advantages of Odoo CRM

Intuitive user interface

I signed up for a free plan to explore and test the interface and features of Odoo CRM. I found its control panel intuitive and it was easy to navigate between functions. Its channel management view provides an easy-to-digest view with a detailed section when clicking on each contact. User reviews on third-party websites share the same sentiment.

Robust lead and pipeline management features

Odoo CRM allows users to identify sales-ready leads. In the pipeline view, users can also see customer details and activities immediately.

Extensive community resources and tutorials.

There are a lot of community resources available for Odoo CRM. Odoo provides its documentation and has an active community of users on its forum. There are many tutorials on the software available online.

Cons of Odoo CRM

Free plan limited to one app

While Odoo CRM is technically free, you are only allowed to use one app on a free plan. If you need additional features like accounting, sales automation, and project management, you'll need a paid plan.

The integrations are exclusive to Odoo applications.

Odoo CRM is limited to other Odoo apps for integrations. While Odoo's apps are extensive (72 apps at the time of writing), they pale in comparison to other CRM software, which has hundreds of third-party integrations available.

Steep learning curve and poor support

As an open source CRM, Odoo CRM is expected to have a slight learning curve. However, feedback from real-world users of third-party sites mentions challenges with initial setup and a lack of helpful support from their customer support team, even with the use of Success Packs (paid customization packages). and premium support plans.

Alternatives to Odoo CRM

While Odoo CRM allows unlimited customization, it may not be suitable for organizations that lack the knowledge to configure individual functions. Additionally, Odoo CRM can only integrate with other Odoo applications, which can be limiting.

Its customized processes and activity tracking provide room to scale to fit any company's sales and customer management needs. However, keep in mind that customization is limited compared to Odoo CRM.
