Saber Interactive confirms “several titles” still in development following today's Embracer sale

Saber Interactive COO Tim Willits took to social media to confirm that “a number of titles” remain in development at the publisher, including Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, following today's Embracer Group sale.

This morning, following rumors of a sale last month, publisher Embracer announced that it had reached a deal to sell large portions of Saber Interactive for $247 million. The buyer is Beacon Interactive, a company founded by Saber Interactive co-founder Matthew Karch.

As part of that news, Embracer confirmed that it had retained two joint projects with Sabre, one of which was the troubled Star Wars: The Old Republic Remake. according to Bloomberg's Jason Schreier. However, it was unclear whether today's sale would affect any of the other previously announced titles in development at Sabre.

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 suffered a substantial delay late last year.

And now, Saber Interactive COO Tim Willits has offered some clarity on that point, confirming the development status of three known projects from the company.

“I have received many questions about the status of some of our previously announced projects now that Saber has separated from Embracer,” Willits said. wrote. “I'm happy to confirm that we are still working on several titles, including Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, John Carpenter's Toxic Commando and Jurassic Park: Survival. We are very excited about these titles and can't wait to share more with everyone soon.”

Of the three titles Willits confirmed are still in development, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is expected to arrive in the second half of 2024 after a substantial delay, and the '80s-inspired cooperative first-person shooter Toxic Commando , John Carpenter. Its launch is scheduled for this year. As for Jurassic Park: Survival, which was announced during December's Game Awards, a release window has yet to be shared.
