Following the release of Sea of Thieves' radical structural overhaul last month, Rare is preparing to release a new mid-season update next week that will add anti-cheat and subscription-free solo play to its pirate adventure. cloak and dagger. Starting with anti-cheat, Rare has confirmed that it will be introducing Epic's kernel-level Easy Anti-Cheat solution, as used by Fortnite and Apex Legends, in Sea of Thieves next Thursday, March 14. There's not much else to report beyond its imminent arrival, but the news will probably bring some peace of mind if you think you've been aware of suspicious behavior on the seas. Additionally, next week's update brings an interesting expansion to last year's Safer Seas mode. Starting next Thursday, pirates will be able to play alone on a private Safer Seas server without needing a subscription to Game Pass Core or Game Pass Ultimate. The key points to note here are that this is not an offline mode (Se of Thieves is still intrinsically dependent on its servers) and any form of multiplayer, even in Safer Seas, will still require Game Pass.
