In the past, the Moment 4 preview was exclusive to Windows 11 Insider preview testers, back in September 2023. Now, any Windows 11 user who opts for the “Get the latest updates as soon as they are available” feature in Windows Update can manually download and install the KB5031455 update. On November’s Patch Tuesday (November 14), Microsoft will offer automatic installation of the update for all Windows 11 computers via Windows Update.

The download size of KB5031455 is approximately 600 megabytes and is also accessible for manual download from the Microsoft Update Catalog. Several new features integrated into the operating system by Microsoft through earlier Windows 11 updates are now unlocked with KB5031455.

Upon successful installation of KB5031455, Windows 11’s full version number becomes “Windows 11 Version 22H2 (Build 22621.2506),” with an eventual transition to Windows 11 version 23H2. Microsoft is expected to release a smaller update to change the display from “Version 22H2” to “Version 23H2.”

The ‘Moment 4’ update marks the most extensive update since Windows 11’s launch, featuring numerous innovations categorized under “Start menu,” “Taskbar,” “File explorer,” “Security,” and “Settings and Bluetooth.” These innovations encompass:

  • The ability to hide the time display in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen

KB5031455 brings several changes and fixes compared to the Moment preview version in September 2023. Some notable changes include:

  • Changing the English name of the former Republic of Turkey to the Republic of Türkiye.
  • Support for the currency change in Croatia from the Kuna to the Euro.
