Now, any Windows 11 user who opts for the “Get the latest updates as soon as they are available” feature in Windows Update can manually download and install the KB5031455 update. On November’s Patch Tuesday (November 14), Microsoft will offer automatic installation of the update for all Windows 11 computers via Windows Update.

The download size of KB5031455 is approximately 600 megabytes and is also accessible for manual download from the Microsoft Update Catalog. Several new features integrated into the operating system by Microsoft through earlier Windows 11 updates are now unlocked with KB5031455.

Upon successful installation of KB5031455, Windows 11’s full version number becomes “Windows 11 Version 22H2 (Build 22621.2506),” with an eventual transition to Windows 11 version 23H2. Microsoft is expected to release a smaller update to change the display from “Version 22H2” to “Version 23H2.”
