Xbox Unveils Swirling Green Nocturnal Vapor Special Edition Controller

Microsoft continues to release special edition Xbox controllers with wild abandon, and its latest offering is a new addition to its now three Vapor lines, arriving in the form of the swirling green and slightly darker green Nocturnal Vapor controller.

Nocturnal Vapor, in addition to sounding like a euphemism for a fart, is said to be inspired by nocturnal nature. “Each swirl of color is an expression of that expansive landscape,” Microsoft says of the new controller in your announcement post“with a unique design of each driver, each with its own energy and pattern.”

As with the company's previous Vapor range controllers (Stormcloud Vapor and Dream Vapor are the other two), the Nocturnal Vapor features a “dynamic smoke design”, here combining dark and light green. “Feel the allure of the green diamond-patterned rubber grips on the back,” the official blurb continues, “elevating your experience with a touch of sophistication.”

It promises “up to” 40 hours of battery life and, like its many, many special edition bedfellow controllers, is compatible with a variety of devices, including Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PC, iOS and Android. And if you like its tie-dye and army green aesthetic, the Nocturnal Vapor Special Edition controller is available to reserve now.

It costs £64.99/$69.99 USD from the Microsoft Store (it will also be available at “local retailers”) and launches next Tuesday, April 9.
