Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth creative director Tetsuya Nomura has “completed” the story of the final third installment of the remake.
In an interview in the Final Fantasy 7 Remake Ultimania book translated by Final Fantasy fan and tweeter Audrey, Nomura hinted that the team plans to start recording voices “in the near future” and teased that there were plans to include “something very important.” . which was not included in the original game.
“The main story of FF7 Remake Part 3 has already been completed and Nomura believes that they may begin voice recording in the near future,” Audrey summarized.

“Kitase hopes to deliver an incredible product for Part 3 without having to sacrifice quality over time. He says that the reason why FF7 Rebirth was such an efficient development period was because they kept the same staff as the previous installment, and the Part 3 will also have the same team.”
Additionally, series producer Yoshinori Kitase revealed that Rebirth was in development over three years, as “about a year” was dedicated to the DLC, a timeline he hopes to replicate for Part 3 as well.
If so, Part 3 would be released sometime in 2027.
In related news, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is reported to have sold “about half” the sales of its predecessor Remake in the same time period. This is according to industry analyst Daniel Ahmad, who confirmed today that the long-awaited RPG is “underperforming in terms of sales.”
